Cladding Setout Pack — project-specific setout, at a fixed fee
Manufacturers publish generic system manuals and explicitly push project-specific detailing onto "the architectural designer and engineering parties". No CAD detail library, no project service. Installers absorb the gap on site, in cuts and waste. The Cladding Setout Pack closes it — at a fixed fee, from a drafter working to the manufacturer's prescriptive rules.
Cladding Setout Pack — at a glance
- What it is: Manufacturers publish generic system manuals and explicitly push project-specific detailing onto "the architectural designer and engineering parties". No CAD detail library, no project service. Installers absorb the gap on site, in cuts and waste. The Cladding Setout Pack closes it — at a fixed fee, from a drafter working to the manufacturer's prescriptive rules.
- Who buys it: Cladding and render contractors; Builders and prefab manufacturers; Designers.
- Software: AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, Bluebeam Revu, Manufacturer detail libraries.
- Standards and codes: NCC 2025 (Vic) incl. climate zone 6–8 cladding provisions, NCC 2022, AS/NZS 4600, AS/NZS 1170.2, AS 5113 (assessment never offshore), CSR Hebel and Masterwall system manuals.
- Regulatory position: Setout and junction detailing to a manufacturer's tested, prescriptive system sits squarely inside the Victorian prescriptive-standard exemption. AS 5113 facade assessments and fire-engineering performance solutions are never offshore. Masterwall is an EPS system; CSR Hebel is autoclaved aerated concrete. They are not interchangeable. EPS carries NCC C2D10 and AS 5113 exposure on Class 2–9 Type A and B buildings, so we scope EPS setout work to Class 1 and low-rise.
- How to start: a fixed-fee pilot with a named Australian reviewer, converting to a dedicated seat on the second engagement.

Scope
- Panel setout drawings. Setout to the manufacturer's modular rules — for example Hebel's minimum panel widths, 300 mm multiples above windows and 600 mm multiples between penetrations — so site cuts are minimised.
- Elevations with panel schedule and cut list. Panel by panel, driving procurement and reducing waste.
- Fixing details coordinated to the actual frame. Fixings to the stud frame as detailed: AS/NZS 4600 framing, H/360 deflection, AS/NZS 1170.2 wind loads.
- Junction details. Visible and hidden slab edges, window and door heads, jambs and sills, balcony connections, control joints, vertical joints.
- Compliance evidence sheet. CodeMark reference, FRL, acoustic Rw and Rw+Ctr, NCC Section J, BAL rating — collected in one sheet for the certifier.
- Coordination with frame and services. Because we already detail the frame the cladding fixes to, penetrations, lintels and bracing are coordinated rather than discovered on site.
Software we work in
Standards and codes
We work inside your environment on a virtual desktop. Your templates, your title block, your naming.
Built for
Cladding and render contractors
Accredited installers of Hebel, Masterwall, Cemintel, Unitex and similar systems who want fewer site cuts and a cleaner procurement list.
TradesBuilders and prefab manufacturers
Setout and junction details coordinated to the actual stud frame we have already detailed.
PrefabDesigners
Project-specific cladding documentation your practice does not want to carry in-house.
DesignersThe gap between the system manual and the site
Every cladding manufacturer publishes a good generic manual. None of them draws your project. The installer with one drafter — or none — ends up setting out from the manual on site, and pays in cuts, waste, callbacks and certifier questions. A setout pack drawn to the manufacturer's modular rules is worth money on every elevation.
Because we also detail the frame the cladding fixes to, fixings, penetrations and junctions are coordinated in the same model rather than reconciled on site.
Scoping call
Twenty minutes on what is short, which software, and what the acceptance standard is.
Fixed-fee pilot
A defined batch with a named Australian reviewer and a first-pass-yield number.
Dedicated seat
Convert on the second engagement. Your hours, your systems, our team leader, monthly reporting.
Common questions
What is the difference between Hebel and Masterwall for setout?
CSR Hebel is autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) panel: heavier, with its own modular rules, fixings and junction details. Masterwall is an expanded polystyrene (EPS) rendered system with different panel logic, fixings and fire exposure. We hold both manufacturers' manuals and detail each to its own rules; we never substitute one detail for the other.
Why does NCC 2025 matter for cladding?
Victoria adopted NCC 2025 on 1 May 2026. Among other changes, direct-fix cladding is out of the deemed-to-satisfy pathway in climate zones 6–8 — which is all of Victoria. Cavity and drainage detailing is now the default, and it needs to be drawn.
How long does a pack take?
Twenty to sixty hours for a mid-rise project, depending on elevations and penetrations. Single dwellings are much less. We agree turnaround at scoping.
Is it a fixed fee?
Yes. We sell the pack at a fixed fee first and convert to a dedicated seat on the second engagement. We never lead with a headcount.
Do you handle EPS on multi-storey?
We scope EPS setout to Class 1 and low-rise, because of the NCC C2D10 and AS 5113 exposure on Class 2–9 Type A and B buildings. AAC systems are detailed across classes to the manufacturer's tested scope.
