Trade Subcontractors — take-offs, setout and shop drawings
Most trade subcontractors have no drawing office and one estimator, if that. We give trades the technical seat a head contractor takes for granted: take-offs, setout and shop drawings, claims and payroll.
Trade subcontractors — at a glance
- Segment: Trade subcontractors.
- What NexGenus provides: Most trade subcontractors have no drawing office and one estimator, if that. We give trades the technical seat a head contractor takes for granted: take-offs, setout and shop drawings, claims and payroll.
- Services used by this segment: Cladding Setout Pack; HVAC duct detailing; Trade estimating; Contract administration; BIM & coordination; Business support.
- Delivered by: qualified engineers and experienced detailers in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, trained to Australian standards and working Australian hours.
- Sign-off: every technical deliverable is prepared for, and under the direction of, the client's registered practitioner and reviewed in Melbourne.
- How to start: a fixed-fee pilot, converting to a dedicated seat on the second engagement.

The technical seat most trades never had
Cladding and render contractors get a project-specific setout pack drawn to the manufacturer's rules and coordinated to the frame. Mechanical contractors get fabrication-ready duct detailing on Autodesk Fabrication and Revit MEP. Electrical, framing and lining contractors get take-offs, coordination drawings and back office. All of it prepared under your direction, in your systems, on your hours.
Where a state reserves design work to a licensed trade — Victoria reserves plumbing design work to licensed plumbers, for example — we draft to a consultant's design for coordination only and do not perform the design.
What you are probably dealing with
- No drawing office. Setout done from the manufacturer's manual on site, paid for in cuts and callbacks.
- One estimator, or none. Tenders priced at night by the owner.
- Claims discipline. Payment schedules and claims missed under the reformed Victorian Act.
- Payroll under awards. Construction awards, allowances and Payday Super, every payday.

Your questions
We are a cladding installer with no drafter. What do we get?
A Cladding Setout Pack: panel setout to the manufacturer's modular rules, elevations with a panel schedule and cut list, fixing details coordinated to the frame, junction details and a compliance evidence sheet. Fixed fee. Fewer site cuts, cleaner procurement, fewer certifier questions.
Do you do electrical estimating?
Take-offs and tender build-ups for electrical contractors in your template, with drafting and back office alongside. Ask us about a pilot on one tender.
Do you do plumbing design?
No. Victoria reserves plumbing design work to licensed plumbers. We draft hydraulic services to a consultant's design for coordination only.
How do we start?
A scoping call, then a fixed-fee pilot: one cladding setout pack, one level of ductwork, or one tender take-off, reviewed by you before you commit to a seat.
Send us one elevation.
Cladding installers: send an architectural set and name the system. Mechanical contractors: send one level of ductwork. Fixed fee, agreed turnaround.
